Job Type: Part-Time, 12-20 hours/week
Overview:
Olive House Counseling, a leading provider of mental health services in Roanoke, TX, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Professional Counselor with a specialization in Play Therapy and experience working with adolescents. The ideal candidate will join our dynamic team to provide high-quality therapeutic services to children and teenagers, helping them navigate emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual counseling sessions using play therapy techniques for children and adolescents.
- Assess clients' needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Utilize evidence-based practices to address a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral problems, and family dynamics.
- Collaborate with families, schools, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to treatment.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with state regulations and organizational policies.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with best practices in play therapy and adolescent counseling.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field.
- Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Texas.
- Extensive training in Play Therapy or Certification in Play Therapy (RPT) or willingness to obtain certification.
- Minimum of two years of experience working with children and adolescents in a therapeutic setting.
- Strong knowledge of play therapy techniques and principles.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical practice.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a private practice or clinical setting.
- Familiarity with various therapeutic modalities and approaches for treating adolescents.
